How the New EASA Regulations Can Accelerate BVLOS Drone Operations
A conversation with Jørn Howlid

Meet expert pilot & dronepreneur, Jørn Howlid
Starting as an independent consultant by conducting Line of Sight (LoS) operations using drones for Telia Corporations in Norway, Jørn has since worn multiple hats in the UAV industry. He is currently the CEO of Drone AS, an organization founded by his partner, Felix Slettevoll, which provides drone services such as roof inspections, thermography, and mapping areas for state & progress documentation. He is also a partner at Droneverkstedet (Drone Repair Shop), a company that focuses on extensive training of drone pilots.
Jørn has an M.Sc. in Engineering Cybernetics and worked in the IT sector, eventually retiring from his last position as a CTO in a telecoms company to pursue his UAV business.
Watch Jørn share his journey and experience working with several drone businesses to deploy solutions for large enterprises. We’ll also discuss the various challenges that drone service providers face owing to the varying regulations in every country across the EU region and how the EASA’s (European Union Aviation Safety Agency) recent efforts to standardize drone regulations in their 32 member countries are going to be a game changer for automated drone operations.
